Northfield Urgent Care Announces Medical Skin Care Services

Today, Northfield Urgent Care announced availability of Medical Chemical Peels and Botox Services by appointment on Fridays starting August 24^th. Medical Chemical Peels will be performed from 12-3pm by Lisa Bolduc, CMA. Botox Services will be performed from 9am-12pm by Dr. Kevin Bardwell, MD.

Facial Peels- sometimes referred to as “lunch peels”, this involves the application of a specific solution to the skin of the face in order to peel away the outermost layers, revealing the fresh skin beneath. The healthier, smoother new skin grows in its place. The peel offered by NUC is a mild to moderate peel, as opposed to a deeper chemical peel performed by a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon, which can cause significant redness and peeling. The peel will cause some temporary mild redness and dryness, but does not prevent a person from engaging in normal activities that same day.

Botox- this is a non-surgical treatment for skin furrows and creases on the face. The urgent care will be offering treatment of frown lines, forehead lines, and “crow’s feet” lines outside of the eyes. This simple 10 minute procedure involves injecting a very small amount of a substance (botulinum toxin) just under the skin with a tiny needle. There is very little pain with this procedure. Typically, within one week, one notices that they can frown, but without the creases and wrinkles. The crow’s feet around one’s eyes smoothes out and a person can smile without having the deep creases next to your eyes. The results last for 3-4 months, so re-injection is usually necessary.

“We wanted to offer a service that we felt was lacking in the Northfield area.  We have had several community members request that we provide these medical spa services.  We decided that this would be a good way to provide a service that would meet a need while at the same time allow the clinic to grow and expand for the future." said Dr. Kevin Bardwell, owner of Northfield Urgent Care.

Future Offerings

NUC plans to offer “fillers” (treatment of deeper wrinkles and lines. ie. the lines between nostrils and the corner of the mouth), and “Latisse”, a medicine that is applied to the eyelashes to make them grow longer.
