Pearl Law, 85

Pearl Law, age 85 of Northfield, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, January 23rd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Northfield with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the Church from 11:00 am until the time of Services.

Pearl Anne Minnie Busse was born August 2, 1926, in Scott County, Minnesota. Pearl was part of a large family with three brothers and four sisters growing up on the farm. On April 22, 1950, Pearl married Paul Neil. They moved to the Randolph area and the family grew with the arrival of children: Sandi, Sue, Michael (deceased), Doreen, twins Donald and Dale (both deceased), Brian, Robert, and Caryn. They farmed the family homestead until Paul’s death when the family moved to Northfield. Pearl married Bob Law in 1971 and the family grew with the addition of Bob’s children, Robert and Chris. The family moved back to the farm where Pearl remained for most of her life. Pearl’s greatest joy was her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her passion. She was frequently heard telling others all about them. Her passion for her family led to her authoring a homemakers column in the local paper for a number of years where she shared recipes, household hints, and family anecdotes. Pearl was always ready and willing to lend a hand to any friend or neighbor in need. Pearl helped with the Randolph Fire Department annual chicken barbecue for many years. She is survived by children Sandi Neil of Northfield, Sue (Joe) Brown of Littleton, Colorado, Doreen Neil of Anoka, Brian (Janice) Neil of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Robert Neil of Randolph, Caryn Lengkeek of Bloomington, Chris Law of Northfield, Robert Law of Norfolk, Virginia, as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brother Delbert (Rosalia) Busse of Prior Lake; sisters Hazel Melby of Royalton, Jeanette Busse of Prior Lake, Phyllis (Harvey) Nelson of Lonsdale, Shirley (Herman) Nelson of St. Paul; Pearl is preceded in death by her parents George and Otillia Busse, her husband Paul Neil, children Michael, Donald, and Dale, brothers Elmer and Kenneth, and granddaughter Jessica.
