At the County Board meeting on Tuesday, the Rice County Board of Commissioners adopted two new ways to pay your property taxes. Upon completion and submission of the form found on the Rice County website, the Rice County Auditor/Treasurer's Office will automatically deduct your tax payment from your account on the prescribed dates for the plan in which you enroll. Fran Windschitl, Rice County Auditor/Treasurer said 'This will help tax payers avoid penalties/fees, avoid postage, avoid lost or misplaced payments, and enable timely payments even if tax payers are out of town or on vacation".
Forms may also be obtained by either stopping by or sending a written request to the Rice County Auditor/Treasurer's Office located at: 320 Third Street N.W. in Faribault or at the Northfield Satellite Office located in Northfield City Hall at 801 Washington Street in Northfield. Tax payers may also call the Auditor/Treasurer's Office at (507) 332-6104 to receive further information or request forms.
