The 38th annual Rice County Steam and Gas Engine Show will be held August 31 to September 2 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The show is located three miles south of Northfield on Highway 3 at the Dundas Showgrounds. Admission is $8 per day or $15 for the weekend. Ages 12 and under are free.
The Steam and Gas Show revisits farming traditions over the past centuries. The family-friendly, weekend-long event hosts various activities including: a tractor parade, plowing, harvesting, processing and grain-threshing demonstrations, antiques, farmhouse tours, kids’ tractor pull, horse-drawn wagon rides, and hands-on activities for kids. Old-time music and an outdoor church service will be held Sunday with a pancake breakfast following. Participants can also register for a raffle: the first  prize is a 1941 Oliver 60 Tractor or $1500 cash.
