Pamphlet & Asian Stab Binding Workshop


When: 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.

Where: Northfield Arts Guild, 304 Division St.

Details: Participants will make several versions of two bindings, beginning with a single signature pamphlet stitch with a ribbon closure. An Asian stab binding will round out this introduction to binding without glue. All supplies included in the fee of only $20. Register online at northfieldartsguild.org, call 507-645-8877 or stop by the guild.

Riverwalk Market Fair


When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.

Where: Bridge Square in Downtown Northfield, 12 Bridge Sq.

Details: Northfield’s open-air artists and farmers market features fresh, local produce, artisan foods, and a juried selection of art and fine crafts. For more information, go to riverwalkmarketfair.org/.

Beyond Boxes: Cartonnage Workshop


When: 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.

Where: Northfield Arts Guild, 304 Division St.

Details: Modern cartonnage grows out of box making and is a long standing French tradition of covering small utility containers with various decorative materials. It offers a great use for your marbled and decorative papers. All supplies are included and the fee is only $20. Register online at northfieldartsguild.org, call 507-645-8877 or stop by the guild.
