Tour de Nick

Join the Cannon Valley Velo Club and SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education) on Saturday, Aug. 4, for the 9th annual Tour de Nick bicycle tour through beautiful Rice and Goodhue counties east of Northfield, Minnesota. Proceeds from the ride will support SAVE and the leadership role they provide in developing programs focused on the prevention of suicide. The Tour was started by the Northfield Bike Club after they lost their friend and fellow cyclist Nick to suicide in 2003. It has grown into an annual event attracting riders, friends and families from across southern Minnesota to ride and remember.

Delicia Jernigan, who is riding from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine to raise awareness for suicide prevention and money for SAVE, will be riding this year’s Tour de Nick. Information about Jernigan and her So Many Roads Tour can be found at  www.somanyroadstour.com.

The Tour de Nick offers several routes for everyone from families to the serious rider. Choose from three ride lengths, 10, 20 and 50 miles; the 10-mile route is perfect for the casual rider. The 20-mile route will offer a bit more distance while the 50-mile route will offer challenging hills and beautiful vistas.
