Fifth Street Bridge Will Close Monday For Maintenance

NORTHFIELD, MN — The bridge on Fifth Street in Northfield will close for construction Monday, the city said.

The bridge will remain closed until late June, according to the city's website.

The maintenance to be done on the bridge includes repairing expansion joints, replacing concrete approach panels, and other miscellaneous repairs that were identified during the bridge's last inspection, the city said.

Detours will include using Highway 3, Woodley Street (TH 246) and Water Street to go around the construction area, according to the city.

The city told residents to never enter a road marked with cones or barriers, and to always slow down and drive with caution in work zones.
