NORTHFIELD, MN — Hydrant flushing will begin May 22 and last until May 26, the city of Northfield said.
The watermains will be flushed daily from 9 p.m.-6 a.m., the city said. They are flushed to remove minerals that have accumulated and to check the operational integrity of the fire hydrants, according to the city.
The city of Northfield advised residents to limit water use while flushing is going on and to check water for discoloration before doing laundry. If your laundry gets discolored, you can pick up special soap at Northfield Utilities Division, the city said.
