• Cannon River Fish Passage Project aims to allow free flow of aquatic life (southernminn.com) — Work on the Cannon River Fish Passage Project could eventually affect dams near Northfield, including ongoing discussions about the Ames Mill Dam. The multi-million-dollar effort will replace aging dams with safer rock arch rapids, reconnect 23 miles of river, and improve movement for dozens of fish and mussel species, backed by state Get Out MORE funding and DNR partnerships.
