Letter to the Editor: Mike Dudley 'Lacks Necessary Legislative Temperament'

To the Editor:

Thirty-four years ago next month I was honored by being elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives as the first party labeled Republican from Scott County.  I represented during my tenure in the House the communities of Belle Plaine, New Prague and Northfield among many others in the counties of Scott, Le Sueur, Dakota and Carver.  I served with legislators like Bob Vanasek and Bob Schmitz.  The most important personal asset I found in both the legislature and in my business career was the desire to listen and work with people.

Courteous conduct with those people I wished to serve seems a no-brainer:  This is why I was shocked recently when the first and only time my wife and I met Republican State Senate candidate Mike Dudley after introducing myself and shaking hands with me he stated in both words and body language, “I don’t want to talk to you!” He may be good with horses but Mr. Dudley lacks necessary legislative temperament.
