Hey job seekers do you know about The Employment News Group? This FREE biweekly newsletter is compiled and distributed electronically to the Northfield Library, and other organizations by Gayle Tuthill at the Minnesota Workforce Center office in Faribault.

Gayle spends a lot of time compiling information about employment training programs, local job club meetings, job fairs, online training resources, websites, internships, job related news and job postings in Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota. One of the added bonuses of this newsletter is that includes hyperlinks that lead to websites with additional information about a particular item.

The Northfield Library produces a hardcopy of The Employment News Group for reading in the Employment and Small Business area of the library. It is also posted on the computer in this area. LAST CHANCE - - - - Apply now... Applications are currently being accepted for Healthcare Academy by Workforce Development, Inc.(WDI).

Classes will be held Mon through Thurs, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm,  at South Central College in Faribault from  April 23 - May 17th.  This will be followed by CNA classes starting May 21stSpace is limited.  Candidates are chosen on a first-come/first-serve basis.   The Healthcare Academy prepares people for career entry:  Learn current and in-demand skills specific to the healthcare field including terminology and Certified Nursing Assistant coursework. Participants will explore the opportunities that exist and receive guidance on entering the healthcare workplace.   Complete an application with WDI in Faribault at the Faribault WorkForce Ctr, 201 Lyndale Ave S., Faribault (507-333-2047) or Owatonna WorkForce Ctr, 115 Landmark Drive, Owatonna (507-446-1470).

Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Graduate Engineer Program is now open for application. This spring 13 graduate civil engineers will be hired for positions located throughout the state of Minnesota. Must have bachelor’s degree in civil engineering completed by July 1, 2012. To view the specific job announcements, please visit the State of Minnesota’s career website at www.careers.state.mn.us and enter “Trainee” in the Keyword Search box to locate the job postings. Please note: you will find only eight postings as some locations have multiple openings.
