• K9 Riggs retires after 7 years of service in Rice County Sheriff's Office (voiceofalexandria.com) — Rice County K9 Riggs, who once helped recover a firearm after an armed robbery in Northfield, is retiring after seven years of service. The highly trained dog and his handler, Deputy Kevin Krueger, logged thousands of patrol and training hours, assisted in major narcotics and violent-crime cases, and frequently appeared at community events before both step back from K9 duty.
