Feedback: Murder Charge, ARTech Changes Name, Motorcycle Collision

A weekly update to help you keep up with the news updates and conversation on Northfield Patch's Facebook page, Twitter account and what Northfield Patch users are saying in the comments section.

We're kicking off a new weekly feature called "Feedback Friday" where we let you know what your neighbors have been saying on our Facebook page, to us on Twitter and in the Northfield Patch comment section about the stories from the past week.

: Well, when I went to ARTech, I felt it was very much an arts and technology based school. I am sure the name change would not have happened if Dom Fucci didn't have to leave. He was basically THE art and the technology department.

I believe ARTech sounds much better than this new Arcadia name. Arcadia is an ADMINISTRATIVE unit in Greece, and how does that fit better than ARTech?

This is just pretty disappointing to me. The new name doesn't fit the school, at least the one I knew..

Philip Poyner: These are the people in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in your neigh-bor-hood...

Jana Ritch Kane: I particularly like the "all I've got to pay is a used golf cart and my Daddy's ATV".... You know, I've found that cash usually works best in devious plotting... :note snark:

Bucky Gismo: The way some people drive here, I'm surprised more accidents don't happen. Like the "no I don't have to stop, I'm in a hurry" attitude!

Sean Hayford Oleary: It's kind of the classic conflict between forgiving road designs and roads that require good, alert drivers. Just to the south, at the intersection with Northfield Blvd, there is a bypass lane, but even that would have required the SUV driver to notice that there was a car waiting to turn left, slow down, and pass appropriately. The only thing that would have avoided this accident is a dedicated left-turn lane. Maybe that's warranted, maybe it's not -- but while it might have prevented this accident, it also creates a road where it's okay to not be looking at the road long enough to not notice brake lights for 1/2-mile.

Kathy Phillipsen: What's odd: nothing was done to the portion of Dresden between Headly Twin Homes and Lincoln Parkway. Pavement markings looked like that was going to be redone as well. Wonder what the scoop is with that. Hum.

Ashley Kay: Great article. this is a huge issue worldwide, but so difficult to monitor and control.
