Northfield Graduate to Compete for ‘Designer of the Year’ at Phoenix Fashion Week

Bri Seeley will face off against 11 other fashion designers in the Emerging Designer contest.

Northfield native is among 12 fashion designers from around the nation hand-picked to participate in Phoenix Fashion Week’s 2012 Emerging Designer contest.

Phoenix Fashion Week hosted a press conference at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix Arizona last week to introduce all designers who will compete for a $10,000 prize package of goods and services to help launch their brand. The eighth annual Phoenix Fashion Week is October 3-6, 2012 at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, AZ.

“From the first time we met Bri back in February at a trade show, I knew she had hi-quality designs and a unique brand with a razor sharp focused goal of succeeding in this very tough industry. That is the kind of designer that we searched the nation for,” said Brian Hill, executive director of Phoenix Fashion Week.

Seeley will participate in a three-month long ‘designer boot camp’ that includes bi-weekly classes and homework assignments on Skype. The Phoenix Fashion Week team is focused on building Seeley’s brand through their network of buyers, social media, technical building blocks, as well as strategic fashion events along her path to fashion week.

“The Emerging Designer program built by the Phoenix Fashion Week team involves an incredibly comprehensive schedule that will push me from the emerging category into an established brand. I am excited to up-level my business, become a widely recognized designer, and show the world my aesthetic," Bri Seeley said.
