Northfield Road Construction Update

Division Street and Eighth Street
Concrete crews were finally able to make it to the site to begin the process of pouring concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons. Heselton has brought in two separate concrete crews to help speed up the process of finishing the concrete work. Crews have been working on the sidewalks and driveway aprons on Eighth Street the majority of the week. They expect to finish up Eighth Street today and get a start on Division Street later today. 

Next week, concrete crews are expected to finish up the remaining driveways and sidewalks on all of Division Street by mid-week. Grading crews are expected to be on-site mid-week to backfill boulevards and place black dirt in anticipation of sod and trees the following week.

Linden Street, Lockwood Drive, Meldahl Lane, Zanmiller Drive, North Avenue, Dresden Avenue, & Fremouw Avenue
Pavement milling crews were on-site to mill the top 1-1/2” of pavement on Dresden Avenue from the south entrance to Viking Terrace to Lincoln Parkway. No other work was completed on this area this week.

Next week, sodding crews are expected to be able to access their sod fields again, and should be able to finish the remaining sod on this portion of the project.

Roosevelt Drive
Pavement milling crews were on-site early in the week to mill the top 1-1/2” of pavement on McKinley Drive, Roosevelt Drive, Kennedy Court, Buchanan Court, and VanBuren Court. Concrete crews were also on-site and were able to finish the remaining concrete work on this entire area. Grading crews were also on-site placing black dirt in preparation for sod.

Today, paving crews will be on-site to install the final lift of “Wear Course” asphalt on the entire Roosevelt Drive area. It will be a busy area today, staff encourages motorists to expect delays throughout the day while this work is being completed. Sodding crews will also be on-site today to place the sod along the east portion of Roosevelt Drive. 

Next week, grading crews will finish placing black dirt and boulevard grading on the Roosevelt Area in preparation for the placement of the remaining sod.
