Northfield Senior Wins National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award

Students were awarded based on their academic performance and "outstanding" performances on exams.

NORTHFIELD, MN — A high school senior from Northfield was recently named a College Board National Recognition Programs awardee, according to a news release from Perpich Arts High School, which is located in Golden Valley.

Elle Hall-Holt received the National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award, Perpich said. Bryne Croyle Johnson, a senior from Wyoming, MN, received the National Indigenous Recognition Award, the school said.

Hall-Holt is from Northfield and originally attended Northfield High School, according to the news release.

The students were awarded based on their academic performance and "outstanding" performances on their PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and/or AP Exams, Perpich said.

"They’ve accomplished these milestones during an immensely demanding period of their high school career," The College Board said. "We couldn’t be more delighted to share this great news."
