Rice County Eyes 4.48% Levy Increase

A preliminary number means commissioners cannot increase the levy when they finalize the number in December. The levy, however, can be finalized at a lower number than what they were set at Tuesday.

Rice County Commissioners on Tuesday set the preliminary 2013 tax levy at a 4.48-percent increase, or $850,000. That would bring the projected tax levy to nearly $20 million.
