Unitarian Church to Celebrate National Coming Out Day Sunday

The service will take place Sunday and feature singer-songwriter Sarah Thomsen of Duluth.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northfield will host Duluth singer-songwriter Sarah Thomsen during a special service in honor of National Coming Out Day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

The service is in collaboration with Carleton College’s Gender and Sexuality Center and the Carleton Chaplain’s office.

According to the Northfield News, Thomsen is an accomplished performer:

"Thomsen's songs have won numerous accolades and awards, including winner of Minnesota Folk Festival’s New Folk Songwriting contest. She was a top finalist in the national Music to Life Contest created by Noel Paul Stookey of the group Peter, Paul and Mary to recognize songs of socio-political concern."

The service will be held at Carleton's Skinner Memorial Chapel.
