3 People Who Died In Vermillion River Identified: Report
The victims have been identified by the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office, KARE11 reported Friday.
OAKDALE, MN β The three members of an Oakdale household who died after being pulled from the Vermillion River have been identified, according to a KARE11 report.
The victims have been identified by the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office as Miguel Juan-Jose, 22, Petrona Juan-Jose, 17, and Ke Drer, 41, the news outlet reported.
The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office previously said they believed the three victims were from Oakdale.

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office responded Monday evening to the mouth of the Vermillion River where it enters the Mississippi River. One of the family members was fishing while three others were swimming on the north side of Diamond Island.

The man who was fishing jumped into the water to help when the three swimmers started struggling in the water, officials said. After rescuing one of themβa womanβhe ended up going underwater with the remaining two, according to officials.
Rescue officials searched the water for three hours until nightfall when inclement weather shut down the search, according to officials.
The search continued the morning of July 4 before picking up again early Wednesday morning, when the bodies were found, officials said.
