Fire Department Responds to Weekend Attic Fire
The Fire Department contained the fire to the home's attic.

The Oakdale Fire Department is investigating the source of an attic fire that occurred early Sunday morning.
The was called to a single-family home on the 600 block of Goodview Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Sunday. Smoke and flames were visible from the house's roof when firefighters arrived, said Fire Chief Jeff Anderson.
Fire crews pulled some of the building's ceiling down and were able to extinguish the fire within five minutes. The fire was confined to the attic in the rear portion of the house, Anderson said.

No one was home during the incident. A neighbor notified the fire department about the fire. The home received some smoke and water damage.
While the source of the fire is under investigation, Anderson said the fire did not look suspicious. It was most likely an electrical fire.
