This summer’s Listen@the Library music series wraps up next week.

The final concert will feature 33 Degrees North, a Calypso group, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 7.

This is the second summer for Listen@the Library, a family event with musical entertainment on the library lawn. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the program.

Rain or shine, the show will go on; if necessary, the program can move indoors.

Transfiguration

Yes, it’s July, but at least one Oakdale school is giving folks a chance to get ready for the year.

Health Survey

Washington County on Wednesday sent out a reminder about its online health survey.

The reminder comes on the heels of a report of obesity in Oakdale and Washington County.

Paddleboarding

The owner of Brown Dog Paddleboard Co. will host an upcoming stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) event on Square Lake, part of a Washington County Parks series.

The free β€œStand-up Paddleboard Demo” will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the lake.

Learn maneuvering skills, improve balance and get a full body workout to surf β€œMinnesota Style” on the clear waters of Square Lake.

The program is for ages 12 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Also, β€œLadies Community Paddleboarding” will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 and Aug. 20. Β Ladies may bring their own SUP or rent one for $25 an hour. It is for women ages 18 and older.

Finally, β€œSUP Community Paddle” will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Bring an SUP or rent one for $25 an hour or $40 for two hours. This is for those ages 12 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Park vehicle permits are required ($5/day or $25/annual). SUP participants may purchase rentals at the Square Lake Park contact station. Credit cards and cash are accepted.

Square Lake Park is at the junction of Square Lake Trail (Highway 7) and County Road 59 in east-central May Township at 15450 Square Lake Trail N., Stillwater.
