Oakdale City Council Takes Another Step Toward Tartan Crossing Development

The City Council approved a resolution that will allow for the construction of a new traffic signal, which is part of Tartan Crossing redevelopment.

The Oakdale City Council took another step forward in the redevelopment of Tartan Crossing.

The city council approved a resolution Tuesday night that vacates the right-of-way along the easterly side of Hallmark Avenue and 11th Street. The city must vacate this portion of the road in order to accommodate the road line with Bergren Plaza, said Community Development Director, Bob Streetar.

By aligning the street correctly then the city will be able to install a new traffic light, which is part of the redevelopment plan. When the road was originally platted the street light wasn't under consideration, which is why the city is now required to vacate the right-of-way, said Whitney Ridlon, the city planner.
