Oakdale Woman Convicted of Theft, Drug Charges

The incidents stem from 2009 and 2010.

An Oakdale woman was sentenced to probation for five years and must pay more than $400 in restituion for two separate incidents in 2009 and 2010.

Anna Jean Goski, 25, was convicted of theft and drug charges in Washington County District Court last week. 

According to the first criminal complaint, Oakdale Police Officers received a report that Goski had stolen her parents' silverware set. A family member had found a receipt from Pawn America in Fridley where Goski had pawned the silverware.

Officers checked pawn activity by Goski and also found that she had made 11 pawn sales since 2008. The pawn check revealed she had sold a bicycle, a ring, a weed cutter and a chain saw. Goski's family later confirmed those items had also been missing. The total value of the missing items was $2,425. 

In the second criminal complaint, Goski committee prescription fraud in 2010 at the Target Pharmacy in Cottage Grove.

Goski was trying to receive a prescription for diazepam, a tranquilizing muscle-relaxant drug primarily used to relieve anxiety. The pharmacist discovered the prescription was fraudulent after checking with the prescription provider. The prescription was in the name of Demarcus Freeman for 10 milligram diazepam tablets. 

When Cottage Grove Police Officers arrived Goski said she was picking up the prescription for her friend and was unaware that the prescription was fraudulent. 

For both theft and drug charges, Goski was sentenced to five years probation under certain conditions, including she serve 60 days in jail with a credit of five days served, complete random drug testing and a mental health assessment, take prescription medication and pay $443.60 in restitution to each victim.
