School Board to Vote on Contract for ISD 622 Teachers

Teachers could see a 1.15 percent raise if the contract passes.

After much anticipation, the school board for District 622 will vote on the Teacher's Association Master Agreement tonight.

School District 622 teachers  earlier this month. Now it's up to the school board to review the contract and either approve or reject it. Approximately 750 teachers are covered under the master contract. 

Teachers have appeared at several school board meetings to advocate for the new contract and have also hosted outside of the District Education Center.

The school district's teachers have been without a contract since June 30 of last year. They have also been without pay increases, besides the customary "steps and lanes" offered to teachers based on their years of service and level of education. 

If the board approves the contract tonight then teachers will receive a 1 percent retroactive pay increase for the 2011-2012 school year in addition to a 1.15 percent raise for the 2012-2013 school year.

The board meets at 7 p.m. tonight at the District Education Center, 2520 East 12 Avenue in North St. Paul.
