• Conservation Officer Reports: Consistent cold weather continues to help ice conditions on area lakes (brainerddispatch.com) — Pequot Lakes conservation officer Chelsey Collette reports checking ice anglers, muzzleloader hunters, snowmobilers, and trappers as cold weather improves but still leaves highly variable ice conditions. Across the central Minnesota districts, officers are seeing more people on lakes and trails, along with a mix of license, registration, and game-tagging violations. Locals are urged to use caution on early ice and double-check snowmobile and angling paperwork.
