Plymouth Rotary Club Honors Jeff Wosje

The Plymouth Rotary Club concluded its 2011-2012 year with a celebration of successes that were achieved during a positive and eventful year.

Outgoing Rotary Club President Jeff Wosje was honored for his leadership and service to the organization. Amongst the many accomplishments was leadership in helping to launch the partnership with the Twin West Chamber to create the Plymouth Business Council.

The Rotary Club awarded three $1,500 scholarships to students who have demonstrated leadership ability and desire to pursue further education at a two or a four year vocational/technical school or university. The Plymouth Rotary Club is an authorized affiliate of Dollars For Scholars.

Rotarian Jim Crenna was honored at the year end meeting with a Paul Harris Fellow for his leadership in the annual Ducks on Parade.

The Rotary Club of Plymouth sponsors the "Ducks On Parade" fundraising activity once each year, raising the money that is ultimately distributed to various causes championing our primary mission to focus on youth and education. This past year, money was also given to benefit the families of soldiers serving overseas, Y.E.S. Club of Wayzata High School and Interfaith Outreach. The "duck race" is held during Plymouth on Parade, the annual civic celebration in the fall.

Paul Harris, for whom the award was named, is recognized as the founder of Rotary, and this award was given in recognition of great service that Jim has provided to the community and the club.
