Back to School: Wayzata District Middle and High Schools Open Houses

With the first day of school rapidly approaching, elementary schools across the Wayzata School District will be hosting open houses for students and families.

Here are the dates and times for the open houses for elementary schools in the Wayzata Area Schools for the 2013-14 school year, as shared on the Wayzata School District website. Click on the school's name to get its supply list, not all lists are available on the schools' websites.

• Wayzata Central Middle School: Sixth grade orientation night is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. The Curriculum Night is for all sixth graders. Information regarding the sixth grade curriculum will be presented. Activities will be held throughout the building. Locker Move-In is 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 and 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

• Wayzata East Middle School: Locker Move-In 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Students will move into their lockers, receive their schedules, turn in forms and pay fees for the upcoming school year. Lifetouch pictures also will be taken. The same thing will also take place 12-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19. Sixth grade or new student orientation night is 8:20 to 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29. This event is for 6th graders and 7th and 8th graders new to East. Buses bring students to and from school. 6th graders have a mini-day, meet teachers, and access their lockers. New 7th and 8th graders tour the building and access their lockers.

• Wayzata West Middle School: Locker Move-In is 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, also includes Lifetouch pictures taken for yearbook. An ice cream social will follow from 7-8 p.m. that same day in the parking lot. Another Locker Move-in is 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23. and also includes pictures. A third Locker Move-In day is 3-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26. Curriculum nights for all grades is Wednesday, Aug. 28, the sixth grade orientation is at 6-7 p.m. and the seventh and eighth grade night is 8-9 p.m.
