Providence Academy

This week, Sept. 17-22 is Homecoming Week at Providence. The week includes spirit games at the boys' varsity soccer and girls' varsity tennis Sept. 18 and girls' varsity soccer and girls' varsity volleyball on Thursday, Sept. 20. Everyone is invited to the Friday night football game and tailgate party. Early concessions open at 5:00 p.m. A pre-game gathering at Jake's City Grille for alumni starts at 5:30 p.m. and kick-off is at 7:00 p.m. Come out and cheer on your Lions!  Be sure to catch the special recognition for youth football players and the half-time float contest.

The 2012 Wild Wild West Homecoming is Sept. 16-22. The week is filled with exiciting dress up days, decorations, homeroom competitions, pep fest, soccer and football games and a dance.  The week includes theme days like Pajama Day Sept. 17, Sept. 18 dressing like a grown up day, Super Hero Day on Sept. 19 and Homeroom Color Day Sept. 20. Friday is boys' soccer game against New Life Academy at 4:15 p.m. with the football game at 7 p.m. The dance is 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Homecoming week is Oct. 1-6. The Armstrong Parent Association (APA) will host a community parade 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, to celebrate Armstrong High School’s (AHS) homecoming. The parade will feature AHS homecoming royalty, school officials and representatives from many of the high school’s sports teams, clubs and other organized groups. Groups from Plymouth Middle School and neighboring Robbinsdale Area School elementary schools are also expected to participate. The parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. starting in the AHS upper parking lot (located on the school’s Eastern border). It will proceed west down 36th Avenue North to Medicine Lake Boulevard East, then south to the school’s lower parking lot.  The parade concludes in front of the AHS tennis courts.

Following the parade, students, staff, families and football fans and of all ages are invited to tailgate in the Armstrong parking lot. The AHS homecoming football game will kick off at 7 p.m. when the Falcons take on the Elk River Elks.

Wayzata High School

Homecoming Week is Oct. 1-6. A tentative schedule shows that the kick off pepfest is during fourth block Monday, Oct. 1. Coronation is 7-10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the school auditorium and the big game is Friday, Oct. 5, with the annual Homecoming parade at 4 p.m. in downtown Wayzata beforehand. The dance is 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the school.
