Letter: Supports Audrey Britton for House District 44A

To the Editor:

If you support education, vote for Audrey Britton (District 44A). After speaking with Audrey Britton and reviewing her educational web page, I plan to vote for Audrey Britton for State Representative on Nov. 6. 
Audrey has a strong history of working in the private sector and understands the relationship between a solid education and a healthy economy. In a recent survey by The Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, Minnesota businesses indicated they need over 70 percent of Minnesota's workforce to have post-secondary education. 
District 44A is the only house district in Plymouth that sent a career politician to the Capitol. Employed in politics since graduating from college, that representative has consistently voted against education. In 2012, she voted to slash higher education funding back to 1993 levels, de-fund early childhood education, and took $2.4 billion from K-12 education funding. 
Because education is so important for our state’s work force, it’s important to fund education adequately. Audrey Britton is endorsed by both teachers in our district and Small Business Minnesota.
