Letter: Supports David Gaither for Senate District 44

This Plymouth resident supports Gaither for Senate District 44.

To the Editor:

You’ve no doubt heard this election holds much at stake. This is as true at the state and local levels as at the national. Some days it seems as though the upcoming election is less between Democrats and Republicans, conservatives and liberals, or left versus right, than between knowledge vs. naiveté.  Those may be the true opponents that face-off in November. Which side you are on may depend on your grasp of the concepts inherent to governance along with your willingness to sort out the facts from the rhetoric.  But more than likely you are seeking a candidate who will clearly articulate those facts and underlying concepts based on a foundation of knowledge uncompromised by the naiveté of ideology. That candidate is David Gaither.

David possesses a rock-solid foundation in the skills of leadership, demonstrated through his professional background in business management, his experience in the legislature and extensive commitment to youth athletic programs. David brings to the senate race in District 44 a solid record in professional, legislative and community expertise.

In order to have a grasp of the stakes, one needs to have a grasp of the facts.   And facts, as they say, are stubborn things; but sometimes not stubborn enough! The basic facts that govern economics seem to elude many of us. And the same is often true for finance, civics and history. Yet without a solid understanding of these dynamics or the interplay among them, it can be difficult to align our priorities with the candidate who will serve us best.  Examine David’s record or give him a call. You will find a candidate who can effectively represent your priorities in the Minnesota legislature and translate them into action. He knows how.
