A Dollar Deal in Roseville

Customers spill out the doors at Jimmy John's sandwich shops across Twin Cities.

Patrons spilled out the doors today at the Roseville Jimmy John's, 1631 County Road C,  to take advantage of a special customer appreciation deal: $1 for an eight-inch sub sandwich.

The special promotion spurred a frenzy of business at other Jimmy John's restaurants across the Twin Cities, as well.  Six types of the eight-inch sandwiches normally sell for $4.69 apiece.

The customer appreciation promotion began at 11 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m.

Ben Johnson, of Roseville, dropped by during his lunch hour. "I didn't have anything else going on," he said.

John Kysylyczyn, former Roseville mayor, was there too. He got sandwiches for him and his five-year-old son. As he stood in line, Kysylyczyn said, "It (the crowd) has a State Fair feel. Usually I don't see lines standing out the door like this."
