As Construction Continues, Lane Switches Taking Place on I-694 Near Roseville

Roseville motorists traveling on sections of Interstate 694 that are under reconstruction will find that work shifting lanes, according to Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) officials. 

In a news statement, the agency said Monday, "As work wraps up on portions of the inside lanes of eastbound I-694 between Hwy 100 in Brooklyn Center and I-35W in Arden Hills, concrete pavement repair will move to the outside lanes of the roadway." 
However, there will be no ramp closures will change in this section of the project at this time, they added.

Meanwhile, here's what is in store for I-694 construction work between Highway 100 and East River Road:

"On subsequent nights, traffic in both directions will be switched to the inside lanes between Highway 100 and East River Road. At that time the following ramps will close for approximately two months:

• East River Road to east and westbound I-694
• All movements between Highway 252 and I-694.
• NOTE: The ramp from westbound I-694 to East River Road remains open.
  

"Weather permitting, all traffic switches and closures should be completed by the end of the week," MnDOT officials said. 

They added, "Lane restrictions also will continue with the interstate restricted to two lanes of traffic through the area daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the roadway is a single lane nightly between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning.

Construction Work Expected Through Early November

Concrete pavement repair, drainage and bridge deck replacement on I-694 between I-35W in Arden Hills and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center will continue until early November.
Long-term lane closures and ramp and loop closures continue on the project through early November. 

Traffic is restricted to two lanes of traffic daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is a single lane in each direction each night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning."
