Check Your Lottery Tickets: Big Wins Still Unclaimed Across Minnesota

Players in Minnesota have missed out on jackpots worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

ROSEVILLE, MN — A handful of Minnesotans are sitting on winning lottery tickets worth tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, but no one has claimed the cash.

According to the Minnesota Lottery, several Powerball and North 5 prizes remain unclaimed this fall, along with dozens of major scratch game winnings still waiting for their rightful owners.

Two unclaimed Powerball tickets, each worth $50,000, were sold earlier this year at Kwik Trip stores in Albert Lea and Cambridge. Another North 5 ticket worth $27,000 was sold in Newport and has yet to be redeemed.

Players have one year from the date a game closes to claim any prize, and tickets worth more than $50,000 must be redeemed in person at the Minnesota Lottery’s Roseville headquarters.

The lottery says its list of unclaimed prizes, updated several times a day, shows just how often people forget to check their tickets. With more than 86,000 winners daily, prizes can come and go quickly.
