Building Women Leaders Topic of Meeting Today

Meeting to be held 6:30 p.m. at Roseville Skating Center.

The Roseville-Maplewood-Falcon Heights chapter of the League of Women Voters Minnesota will hold a meeting tonight (Tuesday)  on testimonials from three prominent women on how they became leaders.

The feartured speakers are Roseville state Rep. Mindy Greiling, District 623 School Board member Kitty Gogins and and Laura Wang, executive director of League of Women Voters-Minnesota.

The three women will talk about,among other things: Do they attribute their success to hard work, or luck, or both?  And what advice do they offer to other women seeking leadership roles?
The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the Roseville Skating Center, 2661 Civic Center Drive, Roseville.

Greiling, the minority leader of the Education Finance Division of the House Education Committee, has served in the State Legislature since 1992, and has won numerous awards for her service.
Gogins has served on the District 623 School Board since 2005, and has spent 25 years leading strategic change in Fortune 500 companies and non-profits. She is a published author of a book about refugees and new Americans.
Wang is the executive director of League of Women Voters Minnesota.  She has been with the organization since 2006.  Prior to that, Wang served as the public policy coordinator. She is interested in studying how the League of Women Voters model of promoting civic engagement and women’s leadership can be applied globally.
