
Various outdoor activities in Roseville are getting scaled back or cancelled this week due to the Twin Cities late-summer blast of soaring temperatures and highΒ humidity.Β
The Roseville Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday afternoonΒ cancelled Youth Fall soccer practice Β due to the expected heat index in excess of 100 degrees.Β
Team coaches and Park staff are contacting participants, according to Kara Thomas, Roseville city parks and recreation administrative assistant.Β
Meanwhile, at Roseville Area High School (RAHS), activities director Jeff Whisler said, "We have cancelled a few events and scaled back practices for some of our teams.Β The main concern we have is keeping our student athletes safe."
