Firefighters teach an easy-to-learn two-step, hands-only CPR process.

Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or other vital organs. According to the American Heart Association, only about one in 10 heart attack victims survives. By using hands-only CPR, we may be able to improve those odds.

Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. It is recommended for use by anyone who sees a person collapse suddenly. It can be used temporarily until professional help arrives.

Firefighters will follow guidelines established by the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health to keep students and firefighters safe. Space is limited and registration is required. Call 651-792-7009 to reserve a spot.
