Demolition Starts Today on Old Roseville Fire Station
Fire Station No. 1 making way for plans for a new single, bigger facility.
Demolition began this morning on Roseville's Fire Station No. 1, a structure dating back to the 1940s.
The aging structure at 2701 Lexington Ave. N. , which has been plagued by mold, is giving way to plans for a new $8 million fire station that the city plans to build on the same site.
The city intends the new facility, just north of the City Hall campus on Lexington Avenue, to become its larger and single site station with construction to begin sometime in 2012. The new fire station could be 32,000 to 36,000 square feet, according to Fire Chlef Tim O’Neill.Â
