Eagan and Roseville residents win national title at the Fall North American Bridge Championships

Barry Purrington of Eagan, Minn., and Michael Cassel of Roseville, Minn., claimed victory in the 1-10,000 Swiss Teams event

Barry Purrington of Eagan, Minn., and Michael Cassel of Roseville, Minn., claimed victory in the 1-10,000 Swiss Teams event at the Fall North American Bridge Championships (NABCs), one of the 15 championship-level events held in Orlando, Fla., from Nov. 24 to Dec. 4.

This is both Purrington’s and Cassel’s third first-place NABC title. Members of the team, pictured left to right, included Robert Kent and Ellen Kent of Marina Del Rey, Calif., Michael Cassel, and Barry Purrington.

The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with opportunities for everyone to play daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The 2017 Spring NABCs will be held in Kansas City, Mo., from March 9 to 19.
