Fitness Expert Visits Golden LivingCenter in Roseville

Nationally recognized fitness expert Chris Freytag dropped by the Golden LivingCenter – Lake Ridge in Roseville earlier this week to help kick off a five-day health and wellness celebration.

The program is called “WALK! with Aegis Therapies 2011’’ and is being held at hundreds of skilled nursing home facilities across the nation, including the Twin Cities, that are served by the contract provider of rehabilitation and therapy services. The week-long program is designed to motivate older adults to be more active to maintain and improve their health,  Brooke Viegut, executive director of Golden LivingCenter – Hopkins, said in a statement.

Freytag is a consultant to Aegis Therapies and helped design the “WALK! with Aegis Therapies” program. She is an author, columnist for Prevention magazine, creator of fitness DVDs and a fitness contributor to KARE 11 television.

Freytag, of Wayzata, also visited Golden LivingCenter in Hopkins on Monday before dropping by the Golden LivingCenter in Roseville.

The week-long program supports the International Council on Active Aging’s annual Active Aging Week, which is celebrated in the U.S. and Canada during the last week of September.

Wisconsin-based Aegis Therapies’ client locations include independent living facilities, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and other locations.
