Grief education and loss support series set to begin Sept. 10

6-week program of lectures and support groups

With losses continuing to mount and people’s lives still being affected by COVID-19, Growing Through Loss, a six-week education and support series offers individuals a chance to learn about and get support for dealing with grief, whether due to the pandemic or others losses such as death of a loved one, a job change or retirement, moving, divorce or separation.

The no-cost program will take place for six Thursday evenings with weekly registration beginning at 6:45 p.m., Sept. 10, at Incarnation Lutheran Church, 4880 Hodgson Rd., Shoreview, and will follow Incarnation’s facility use pandemic policies. Wearing masks is required. For more information, call 763 755-5335 or visit www.growingthroughloss.org.

Each session is complete in itself and the series is designed so people can attend as many sessions as they wish, sponsors say. Each evening begins with a lecture by a therapist, educator or pastor, and is followed by facilitated discussion groups for persons facing similar losses. There is no charge for the program and donations are accepted.
