The Roseville Bakery sold Obama and Romney decorated cookies. This time around, however, the cookie poll lost its magic.

Obama supporters tried to narrow the gap late in the day. But in the cookie countdown, Romney-decorated cookies iced Obama cookies by a vote of 1,335 to 1,185.

For shop owner Amy Johnson, her day of non-stop cook sales began at 5:30 a.m. today and didn't conclude until a few minutes past 6 p.m.

"We were going crazy," Johnson told Roseville Patch. "Our cookie sales went right through the roof."

Update (4 p.m.) Latest Roseville Bakery Presidential Cookie poll results: Romney leading Obama 1,222 to 1,006.

In the Presidential election, could the final result come down to the last crumb?

Probably not. But one Roseville business is offering a sweet treat on Election Day that is a fun poll on the race between President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney.

The bakery, 1147 Larpenteur Ave., is offering Obama and Romney cookies to test its customers' preference in the presidential race, according to an Associated Press picked up the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

At last report, Romney was leading Obama 830 to 731.

"Roseville Bakery owner Amy Johnson says she's done her cookie poll in the past two elections, and it correctly predicted the winner both times," the newspaper reports.
