Meet First Store Manager for New Roseville Wal-Mart

Lopez 11-year veteran of the discount retailer.

Ron Lopez, an 11-year veteran of Wal-Mart Stores, will serve as the first manager of the discounter's new Roseville supercenter when it debuts in about a year

"It is really exciting to join the group here in Roseville," said Lopez, who is now manager of Wal-Mart's store in St. Anthony Village. "Coming into a new facility is something to look forward to." 

Lopez added he is looking forward to "getting to know the community. We try to be a good community partner  and that is what I want to establish in Roseville."

The 150,000 square-foot Roseville store will be built on a 14-acre site at the northeast corner of County Road C and Cleveland Avenue.

Asked what he likes best about working for Wal-Mart, Lopez said, "It's the people and meeting the people in those stores."

Lopez said most of career with Wal-Mart has been spent working in Iowa. "I started coming to the Minneapolis area doing special projects and then stayed as the store manager in St. Anthony," he said.

Prior to joining Wal-Mart, Lopez said he owned and operated several small businesses over 20 years. He was also marketing manager for the President Casino in Missouri for several years.
