Minnesota State Lottery Office in Roseville Open Again

Ticket sales are up and running.

The Minnesota State Lottery, including its Roseville headquarters, is back up and running today.

Convenience stores and other retailers were able to sign on to the lottery's terminals and begin selling tickets at 6 a.m. today while lottery offices reopened for business at 8 am., said Dale McDonnell, Lottery assistant director and general counsel.

"Our systems are up and running," McDonnell said, noting there are about 3,000 retail locations across the state that sell tickets. "We are extremely happy to have all employees back to work and start generating money for the state and environmental causes again."

McDonnell estimated  the Lottery lost about $25 million in sales and about $6.5 million in profits during the nearly three-week state government shutdown.

About 100 of the Lottery's 140 to 150 employees work at its Roseville headquarters, McDonnell said.
