Ramsey County buys goods and services through a cost-effective, competitive and fair process accessible to all businesses. The county seeks vendors who share its commitment to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusiveness.

Ramsey County policies, state statutes and federal regulations typically require that higher value purchases are made through a competitive process. This process involves advertising a document, called a solicitation, that describes the good or service we want to buy. In response to the solicitation, businesses can submit a bid, proposal or quote for that good or service. Businesses selected through the competitive solicitation process are awarded contracts with the county.
