Richard Lewis Laid To Rest In MN
While the Brooklyn native never lived in Minnesota, his wife is from St. Paul.

ROSEVILLE, MN — Comedian Richard Lewis last week was laid to rest at Roseville’s Temple of Aaron cemetery in a private service, according to the Star Tribune.
Nicknamed “The Prince of Pain” for his dark sense of humor, the Brooklyn native died Feb. 27 at his home in Los Angeles after a heart attack and battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Known for his late-night television appearances, Lewis recently played opposite Larry David on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

While he never lived in Minnesota, the Tribune reported that Lewis’ wife, creative executive Joyce Lapinsky, whom he married in 2005, is from St. Paul and was a student at the University of Minnesota.
Lapinsky informed Lewis over breakfast that his final resting place would be in Minnesota, the comedian previously told The American Jewish World.

While he thought being laid to rest at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles, where many celebrities are buried, would be “more fun,” Lapinsky noted that Lewis would stand out more in a less prominent cemetery, he told the publication.
“Real diehard fans will have to find Temple of Aaron [Cemetery] and put a rock by my stone,” he told the World.
