A basket full of gift certificates awaits the medallion winner.

The eighth annual Rosefest  medallion treasure hunt is underway. The medallion finder will win a basket of gift certificates to local area businesses; a finder with a registered Rosefest button will win double the goodies.

Here re the first two clues:

Clue No.1

Before you start your search today there are some things to know

The rules include some places where you do not need to go

From golf course, Arboretum and the Oval, stay away

And at the nature center the medallion will not lay

Clue No. 2 :

If you were searching last year then you would already know

That Willow Pond’s the resting place we chose for hiding, so

The challenge for you this year you can meet so easily: To find a Roseville park whose name does not contain a tree.

Look for a new clue to be posted at 11 a.m. daily on the city’s Web site and at Park and Recreation locations. 

For an early jump, the daily clue is available at 10 a.m. from the following medallion sponsors: Genisys Credit Union at Har Mar; Courtyard by Marriott,2905 Centre Point Drive; Rosedale Center; Romano's Macaroni Grill at Rosedale Center; Maui Wowi, 1702 Lexington Ave.;
