Rosefest Saturday Preview

A daily look at Roseville's annual summer celebration.

Rosefest, Roseville’s annual summer festival, literally begins its 10-day run today.

The summer celebration kicks off with a “Run/Roll for the Roses,’’ 5K and10K races for able-bodied runners and wheelchair participants with the competitors finishing at the Roseville Skating Center.

The races typically attract some 300 to 400 participants, according to city Parks and Recreation officials. The races start at 7:55 a.m.

Other events today include:

5 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday.  The Great American Campout.  There will be family and group activities at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center, which is part of Central Park on the east side of Dale Street south of County Road C.

7  to 9 p.m. Rosefest Campfire at Harriet Alexander Nature Center. This event will feature campfire stories, songs and s'mores.

This year’s Rosefest extravaganza has nearly 30 events.
