Roseville Council to Consider Preliminary Approval For First Group of Park Projects
Projects include work for Central Park, Harriet Alexander Nature Center and the Roseviile Skating Center.
The Roseville City Council is expected tonight (Monday) to consider giving preliminary approval to a first group of park system renewal projects.
According to a city staff report, a variety of maintenance and improvements are slated for: Autumn Grove Park , Bruce Russell Park, Central Park Victoria Ballfields, Â Central Park Victoria West, Central Park Legion Field, Harriet Alexander Nature Center (work to continue in collaboration with Friends of Harriet Alexander Nature Center and Friends of Roseville Parks), Howard Johnson Park, Lexington Park, Materion Park, Villa Park and the Roseville Skating Center.
"The next step then will be to complete the detailed construction plans and specifications for the projects and begin work in the fall," according to Lonnie Brokke, Roseville parks and recreation director.

Brokke noted, "All Parks and Recreation Renewal related information is on the city website at www.cityofroseville.com, and then click on the Parks and Recreation Renewal tab on the left side of the screen. You can go into each project by location and view the meeting agendas, summary of the meetings and the preliminary plans."Â
Last September, the Council  approved selling $17 million in bonds for the construction of a new fire station and a series of park maintenance and improvement projects.  The fire station project is about $9.2 million with the remainder of the bonds devoted to the park sysrem renewal and improvement program.Â
