Roseville Flooding Update: One mobile home's roof collapses

Besides flooding on a section of Larpenteur Avenue, Roseville sustained other rain-related problems Saturday.

A mobile home at the Roseville Mobile Home Park, 2599 Lexington Ave. N., suffered a partially collapsed roof at about 6 a.m. Saturday.

Owners of that trailer at the mobile home park, also known as Rosewood Estates, were not available for comment.

But a neighbor, Mike Mastel, said “too much rain” resulted in the roof collapsing. Two adults and two children were in the trailer but no one was hurt, he said.

The Roseville Fire Department was called to the scene and firefighters, in turn, called for the Red Cross to assist the family, Mastel said.

Meanwhile, there was flooding at nearby Central Park with Lake Bennett overflowing its banks and spilling over onto an adjacent ballfield. The concrete stage floor of the nearby Frank Rog Amphitheatre was also under water, as of mid-Saturday afternoon.

Mastel noted that Lexington Avenue, from County Road C to Oakcrest, was closed down for a time in the early morning because rain water was covering the road.

All in all, Roseville was left drenched. Linda Owen, a Roseville resident,  reported her garden rain gauge collected four and a half inches of rain overnight.
