Roseville High School Girls Cross Country Team Headed to State
The Raiders are fielding a team of seven runners and two alternates after finishing second in the sectional meet.

The Roseville High School girls cross-country team is headed to the state AA meet on Saturday (Nov. 3) at St. Olaf College.
Nine Raider harriers qualified for the state meet; the team will field seven runners with two serving as alternates. The Raiders qualified for state after the team placed second at the Section 4AA meet.
Raiders head coach Mary Schifsky said her top six runners from last year were on her 2012 team. "The same girls are back and running better than last year," Schifsky said."It's exciting to have the top girls doing better."

Here is the Raiders' nine runners in order of how they finished at the sectional meet: 1. Caroline Brisbois, 11th grade; 2. Naomi Boehm, 8th grade; 3. Allison Cordes, 12th grade, captain; 4. Sammy Nielsen, 12th grade, captain; 5. Lindsey Lee, 9th grade; 6. Samantha Kurkowski, 7th grade; 7. Bailey Cogan, 12th grade, captain; 8. Emmy Inwards, 11th grade and 9. Emily Dyson, 11th grade.
Going into this Saturday's state meet, Schifsky said her team is underdog to place first and that suits her just fine. "We are very excited to see what happens," she said.

Last year, the Raiders team had two finishers in the top 25 and took fifth overall as a team at the Class AA state meet. Click on to this link to read the story from last year's state AA meet. This is the fourth straight year that the Roseville girls team has qualified for the state meet.
